CONSTITUTION 



In order to establish a firm foundation for 
the Lenox High School Alumni Association 
and all that concerns it, we, the members of 
the association, adopt the following constitu- 
tion. 



ARTICLE I. 
Name and Purpose 

Section 1 . 

The name of this association shall be The 
Lenox High School Alumni Association. 

Its purpose shall be to promote the general 
welfare of the members of the Lenox High 
School Alumni Association by providing a 
better basis for business and social inter- 



ARTICLE II. 
Membership 

Section I . 
Any duly authorized graduate of the Lenox 
High School is eligible for membership. 



ARTICLE III. 
Dues 

Section 1 . 
The dues shall be twenty-five cents an- 
nually, beginning on or before June thirtieth 
of th* current graduating year. 
Section 2. 
Any member four years in arrears shall be 
suspended from active membership; such 
suspension to terminate on payment of 
arrears. 

ARTICLE IV. 
Officers 
Section 1. 
The officers of the association shall consist 
of a president, vice-president, secretary- 
treasurer. 

Section 2. 
The president, vice-president and secretary- 
treasurer shall be elected by acclamation at 
the annual business meeting. 
Section 3. 
The executive committee shall consist of 
seven members of which the retiring president 
shall be chairman. 

Section 4. 
Tenure of Office 
All officers shall be elected for one year, 
but are eligible for re-election. 



Section 5. 

Duties of Officers 

The duties of the various officers shall be 
as follows: 

Of the President: To act as an ex-officio 
member of all committees; to preside at the 
annual business meeting; to appoint the 
executive committee; and to perform such 
other duties as is ordinarily incumbent upon 
a president. 

Of the Vice-president: To assume the duties 
of the president in the latter's absence. 

Of the Secretary-Treasurer: To keep the 
minutes of the mee ings; to preserve the 
records of the association; to have complete 
charge of all moneys; to send out all notices. 

Of the Executive Committee: To convene 
at the discretion of the chairman or at the 
request of the president; to plan and arrange 
all business or social activities; to appoint 
such committees as it deems necessary to 
carry forward the work of the association. 

ARTICLE V. 

Amendments 

Amendments may be made to this con- 
stitution by a majority vote at the annual 
business meeting. 



BY-LAWS 



The business meeting shall take place 
within three weeks after graduation. 

II. 

The husband or wife of a graduate is eligible 
to attend the.banqujt, but is not eligible to 
hold office. 

III. 

Social functions shall be conducted from 
time to time at the discretion of the executive 
committee. 

IV. 

Ordinary Parliamentary laws are to operate 
at all meetings. 

V. 

A copy of the constitution and by-laws shall 
be kept in the record books of the association. 



VI. 

The Secretary shall be empowered to send 
condolences and draw up resolutions in 
death of a member or of a friend of the 
association. 

VII 

The school committee, the superinten- 
dent of schools, and the principal of the high 
school shall be invited to attend all functions 
of the association. 

VIII. 

Guests of honor shall be invited to attend 
the annual banquet.
